Why Florida Is Different

Three Problems Every Florida Homeowner Faces — Solar + Battery Addresses All Three

📈

Your Utility Rate Is Not Fixed

FPL and Duke Energy raise residential rates when they want. You have no say. A Sunrun lease locks in a fixed monthly payment — so next year's rate hike doesn't touch you.

Hurricane Season Is 6 Months Long

The average Florida outage after a major storm lasts 3–5 days. Without battery backup, that means no A/C, no refrigerator, no medical equipment — in summer heat.

Generators Cost More Than You Think

A portable generator costs $800–$3,000 upfront, then $200–$400 per storm in fuel, plus annual maintenance. A battery system requires $0 down and zero fuel — ever.

What Florida Homeowners Say

Real People. Real Results.

★★★★★

"I was skeptical — I've been pitched solar a hundred times. But the report actually showed me my numbers without anyone trying to sell me something first. Ended up scheduling the review and saving $94/month."

— Mark T., Kissimmee, FL
★★★★★

"After Hurricane Ian left us without power for 6 days, I wanted battery backup but had no idea if solar made sense for my roof. The report told me exactly where I stood. It was the first honest solar conversation I've had."

— Diana R., Orlando, FL
★★★★★

"The quiz took maybe 2 minutes. The report was surprisingly specific — not generic. And when the advisor called, they already knew my situation. Didn't feel like a cold call at all."

— James C., Sanford, FL
Common Questions

Straight Answers. No Solar Industry Jargon.

Is this actually free?
Yes. The report, the quiz, and the advisory call (if you want one) all cost nothing. We make money only if you proceed with a Sunrun installation — and only if it genuinely makes sense for your home.
Will I be contacted by 12 solar companies?
No. Grid Compass is a single advisory firm. We don't share or sell your information. You'll hear from us — and only us — if your scores suggest solar is a fit.
What is a Sunrun lease exactly?
Sunrun installs and owns the panels and battery. You pay a fixed monthly rate — typically below your current utility bill — and Sunrun handles all maintenance and monitoring for 25 years. Zero upfront, no equipment debt.
My HOA might not allow solar. Is that a problem?
Florida Statute 163.04 prohibits HOAs from blocking solar installations. Most HOA restrictions on solar are unenforceable. We can provide an HOA compliance letter if needed.
My roof isn't new. Does that matter?
Roof age is one of your three scores. If your roof needs work first, we'll tell you clearly — no sense putting panels on a roof that's 2 years from needing replacement. Honesty is our whole brand.
What if solar doesn't make sense for me?
Then we'll tell you that. A Needs Review result means we'd want to look more closely before making any recommendation. We will never push a solution that doesn't fit your actual situation.
